GENERAL--

Chris is a mechanical engineer from Winnipeg, Canada. Currently, he is a Senior Associate at ICF Marbek, a subsidiary of ICF International in Ottawa, Canada where he supports ICF's climate change work.

Drawing from his engineering background, Chris is interested in broadening his perspective in areas of policy and economics in order to address challenges in energy and the environment. In particular, his interests cover topics relating to renewable energy technologies, sustainable development, and climate change.

Prior to his work with ICF, Chris recieved a Masters in Technology and Policy at MIT where he studied policy options for reducing oil consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in passenger vehicles. He worked as a member of a research team and contributed to a major report.

Previously, Chris worked as an analyst with the Pembina Institute. At Pembina, Chris engaged the Canadian corporate sector, primarily the oil and gas industry, to facilitate competitive and profitable solutions which also reduce the environmental and social impacts of conventional energy systems.

Chris was selected as a Young Canadian Leader for a Sustainable Future by the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and served an eight month position with the Institute for Environmental Studies in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. As a Guest Researcher, he studied sustainable development paths to the modernisation of India's electricity sector.

His involvement in other projects has encompassed work with Engineers Without Borders, the Society of Automotive Engineers, and a renewable biomass project funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
